Collection: Prayer Hearts

Arjuna Rigby Prayer Hearts. Hand painted shanti prayer verses on canvas. Sticker hearts. On ceramic mugs.

The verses come from the Sahana Vavatu shanti prayer representing the shanti mantras (peace mantras) as taken from Taittiriya, Katha and Shvetashvatara Upanishads:

Summary: May the one who protects us and is a source of blessings, that one who sustains the entire cosmos, may that one bless us both together, referring to the teacher and student. The nourishment is nourishing in terms of wisdom, of knowledge. May we be blessed and nourished with the knowledge. May the efforts involved in order to gain the knowledge be done in peace, with commitment, health and the time to do so. May the teaching be meaningful and our understanding be brilliantly clear. Let there be no misunderstanding or any kind of dislike come between us. We ask for peace and for any obstacle that may deny peace to be removed. These problems arise from 1) sources we’ve no control over 2) the beings around us or 3) problems centered on oneself. Let there be freedom from these obstructions.
